A 7.2 magnitude earthquake shakes Sarangani

MANILA, Philippines – Sarangani in Davao Occidental was rocked by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Friday, state seismologists said.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the tectonic quake occurred 30 kilometers southwest of the said area at 4:14 p.m. and had a depth of 10 kilometers.

Phivolcs said damage and aftershocks were expected.
