A GenSan couple died when a wall collapsed during the Mindanao earthquake

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A married couple was killed when the concrete wall of their shed collapsed after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Mindanao on Friday afternoon.

The fatalities were identified as Danny Ginung, 26, and his partner Jane Ginung, 18, both from Barangay Sinawal.

Both are employees of Amadeo Pathwoods.

Capt. Danny Balofiños, the officer in charge of Precinct 4, said the couple’s hut was built next to the concrete wall of the collapsed Amadeo complex.

Local authorities are still verifying other reported deaths from the earthquake.

Local media reported that many people sought medical help for hyperventilation, dizziness and mental shock.
