Nowadays, it’s far from easy being a bowler in the ODIs with rules favoring the batsman in the limited over cricket. Throughout the cricket history, it is the bowlers who have played a pivotal role in the success or failure of a team. But, there are many instances when good bowlers have bad days. It is just part of this beautiful game. However, there are some infamous performances which are often associated with the bowlers long after their playing days are over. There have been some absolute corkers down the years. But the one which will be discussing today is considered as one of the worst over in cricket history. Worst Over in Cricket History | The Infamous Daryl Tuffey Over

This infamous over was bowled by Daryl Tuffey who played for New Zealand in both tests and ODIs. He was quite a decent bowler for New Zealand as he took 77 wickets in Test and 98 ODIs. However, as we said earlier, good players have bad days. Unfortunately, this is what happened with Daryl Tuffey when he bowled 14 balls over in an ODI against Australia in 2005. Tuffey was bowling the first over of the match to Adam Gilchrist. The Kiwi pacer bowled four consecutive no-balls and two wides in first six deliveries. By the time he bowled his first legitimate delivery, he already conceded 14 runs. Tuffey bowled another couple of wides which took the tally to 14 balls over. He ended the over conceding 16 runs, which was quite impressive as he conceded 14 runs off his first ball.
