ABS-CBN and Viu Partners for Philippines Adaptation of Hit K-Drama ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’

ABS-CBN Entertainment and regional streamer Viu team up for a Filipino remake of popular comedy series CJ ENM What’s wrong with Secretary Kim.

Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino will lead the cast of the remake, taking on the lead roles of Secretary Kim and Mr. Vice Chairman, originally played by Park Min-young and Park Seo-joon in the CJ series ENM.

The series is produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, and production begins today. The plot centers around a handsome, narcissistic vice president of a large corporation, whose world turns upside down when his long-time, extremely competent secretary announces her resignation. He then does everything he can to keep her with him.

Adapted from CJ ENM’s popular online tool What’s wrong with Secretary Kim when it was broadcast in 2018, it topped the Korean ratings and also gained wide popularity around the world.

The show is the third adaptation of the top-rated international format by Viu and ABS-CBN, one of the leading studios in the Philippines, after Broken marriage vows AND Flower of Evil.

ABS-CBN and Viu also recently partnered with Philippine network GMA for recently concluded series Break my heartwhich became the most watched series in the Philippines on Viu.
