MANILA, Philippines – A 4.2-magnitude earthquake hit the city of Canlaon in Negros Oriental on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake occurred at 3:58 am
It was of volcanic-tectonic origin and the focal depth was one kilometer.
The epicenter was northwest of the city of Canlaon.
Phivolcs said Instrumental Intensity II was recorded in La Carlota City, Negros Oriental.
He added that no property damage or aftershocks were expected.
