BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A 20-year-old Bataan Peninsula State University student died at the scene on Monday, November 20, when a concrete slab collapsed and hit him after a minibus crashed into the waiting area of a public transportation terminal.
Reports from the city’s Office of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management show that Viel Titulo was sitting in the passenger area when he was hit by a precast concrete slab that served as a terminal wall.
As a result of the impact, Titulo suffered fatal injuries.
The driver was positioning the bus for a long line of passengers when he accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake.
Investigators said the minibus driver was detained immediately after the accident. INQ
