Bauchi State Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau described the Court of Appeal’s verdict confirming Bala Mohammed’s victory as a “new impetus for greater commitment in serving the people.”

DAILY POST recalls that the Court of Appeals on Friday declared the governor as the true winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election.

In a congratulatory message on Friday, Jatau said the victory not only reaffirmed the strength of democracy but also strengthened the PDP administration’s commitment to the progress of the state and the overall welfare of the people.

Political analyst Abdullahi Yelwa also reacted and said the Court of Appeal’s judgment upholding Muhammad’s election was not unexpected.

Yelwa, who is also a senior lecturer at the Department of Crime Management and Control (CMC), Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, added that it might have been shocking that the tribunal judgment was set aside by the apex court.

“If the details of the content of the judgment delivered by the tribunal are carefully studied, it can be predicted with a high degree of precision that the court of appeal will uphold the judgment in its current form.

“The Court of Appeal is called that because it is there to review what has been done before it and which is the tribunal in this case,” he said.
