Los Angeles Lakers season review

The defending Champions Los Angeles Lakers are fighting for their lives in the play-in tournament. The 17 times champions had just 71-days to enjoy their previous year’s winning feat before the start of the new season. The Lakers started the season slowly with a loss against their city rivals L.A Clippers. LeBron James started his 18th season in the NBA, scoring 22 points on the night but was unable to carry his team over the line.

The lakers soon started to find their feet, winning the next two games on the trot. The lakers have had a fair bit of success in the early half of the season. They remained near the top of the Western Conference standings for the most time in the first half of the season but lost their way drastically. Their star men Anthony Davis and LeBron James both suffered a string of injuries that have kept them out for most of the season. Anthony Davis was left out of the squad after suffering a calf strain and Achilles tendonitis in his right leg, playing against the Utah Jazz. He was sidelined for 9 weeks.
