Maryland men’s basketball loses to UAB at Asheville Championship


ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Eric Gaines scored 20 points and UAB used a 13-0 run in the second half to defeat the Maryland men’s basketball team, 66-63, and claim third place in the Asheville Championship on Sunday afternoon.

DeShawn Harris-Smith’s game-tying three-point attempt was blocked at the buzzer. The Terps were 3 for 13 from the field in the last six minutes.
