PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will be sidelined for at least the next three weeks as he continues his rehabilitation from an ACL tear that sidelined him for most of the season.
The three-time All-Star appeared in just three games this season, averaging 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds. He was scheduled to play Wednesday night against the Timberwolves, but missed the deadline due to back problems.
The team said Friday that the new injury schedule has been “determined after further evaluation and consultation.” The Suns added that he would be re-evaluated after three weeks.
The Suns entered the season with high hopes, largely thanks to their star trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Beal, but the group did not play every game together for 11 games. Booker also missed significant time with various injuries, including a calf strain.
Phoenix is 5-6 this season heading into Friday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
