The People’s Democratic Party has congratulated former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 66th birthday.
The PDP stated this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologungba in Abuja.
Ologunagba said Jonathan continues to distinguish himself as a national democratic icon and an international statesman.
Ologunagba described Jonathan as a sincere, selfless, humble, courageous and patriotic leader.
He said Jonathan, as a product of PDP, remained steadfast in his commitment to peace, unity, stability and development of the nation.
“Nigerians across all divides praise President Jonathan for his unwavering commitment to democratic principles such as the rule of law, separation of powers, constitutionally guaranteed freedoms and rights of citizens, as well as the principles of justice, equality and fairness.
“Commitment to free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria in line with the manifesto and policy direction of the PDP; credentials that are indelible in our national annals,” he said.

Ologunagba said Jonathan was recognized for his efforts in strengthening the bonds of unity, love, harmonious living, mutual respect and understanding among Nigerians, as well as creating an atmosphere of free enterprise.
This, according to him, enabled the nation to develop in all sectors under his watch.
He said the PDP was proud of Jonathan’s unprecedented achievements and tremendous economic productivity across all sectors.
“The PDP is pleased that, in recognition of his democratic credentials, Jonathan continues to be entrusted with overseas engagements, including overseeing election observation missions and peace negotiations around the world, where he has distinguished himself to the admiration of all.
“The PDP family pays tribute to Jonathan on this auspicious occasion and prays God to grant him greater wisdom, health and happiness in serving our dear country and humanity,” he said.
