‘Ride’ canceled by Hallmark after one season

Hallmark has been canceled Ridehis Yellowstone-like a drama about an idyllic but financially strapped ranch run by a widowed parent who loses a beloved family member.
Drama starring Nancy Travis as Isabel Murray’s mother and Beau Mirchoff (Good trouble), Jake Foy (Designated survivor) and Marcus Rosner (Arrow) as her sons Cash, Tuff and Austin. Tiera Skovbye plays Austin’s wife, Missy. The first season started at the beginning of this year.
Sherri Cooper-Landsman (Brothers and sisters, Everwood) was the showrunner of the new rodeo dynasty drama starring Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi (Our kind of people). The film was shot in Canada.
Deadline asked Cooper-Landsman about the drama’s inevitable comparisons to Yellowstone.
“Honestly, I didn’t even think about it,” she told us. “When I read it, all I knew was that I could make a good contribution because it was a great family. This is my favorite point. For me it was just this beautiful ranch and a family going through the same thing. And honestly, I didn’t even watch Yellowstone, so I didn’t even think about it. It was just a beautiful setting and a world that Becky knew really well.”
Rideco-produced by Blink49 Studios and Seven24 Films, supported by Endeavor, in association with Bell Media for CTV Drama Channel in Canada,
