Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has been receiving hospice care at her home, her family announced today.
She and former President Jimmy Carter, 99, are “spending time together,” they added.

“Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter was placed in home hospice. She and President Carter spend time with each other and their family.
“The Carter family continues to request privacy and appreciates the outpouring of love and support,” the statement read.
They are the longest married couple in the history of US presidents. They met when Jimmy was just three years old and Rosalynn was a newborn.
On July 7, 2023, they celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary.
The couple first met in 1945. Jimmy, then 20, was attending the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and stole a kiss from Rosalynn on their first date.
He later told his mother that he wanted to marry her.
The couple has four children and a total of 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
