Sister of murdered teenager in Rizal files murder case against teenager’s girlfriend and 7 others

MANILA, Philippines – The sister of teenager Ronald John Delgado, who was found dead on a road in Rodriguez, Rizal, on Friday filed a murder complaint against the teenager’s girlfriend and her relatives, police said.

Based on a document obtained by INQUIRER.net, the victim’s sister, Rachel Ann Camangian, filed a case against the victim’s 16-year-old girlfriend and seven other people.

Mariesol Tactaquin, chief of the Rizal PPO public information office, said the complaint was filed with the Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on November 15 last year.

“A murder case initiated against the suspect has been referred to the prosecutor’s office,” Tactaquin announced in a Viber message.

How did this happen

According to a Rizal Police report, Delgado’s body was found on Macabud Road in Sitio Calumpit, Barangay Macabud last October.

The victim’s body was identified by his other sister, Rochell Anne Camangian. The body was handed over to the Funeral Service in Valencia, where an autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death.

Citing Rochell, police said Delgado left his home on the evening of October 29 to meet a classmate. The next day, Rochell received a “suspicious” text from the victim saying she could no longer look for him because he had run away with his girlfriend.

The girl’s classmate told police that the suspect’s family opposed the relationship between them, citing religion as the main reason.

Police said the witness also revealed that the girl also sent her a text message asking for help, in which she wrote that her brothers had threatened to harm Delgado when they found out about the secret relationship.

The same day, Delgado’s body was found. Another witness saw the suspect’s family leaving the apartment in a hurry with their belongings.

On October 31 last year, police reported that two suspects contacted the owner of the apartment and asked her to delete recordings from CCTV cameras located in the estate.

Police said the suspects remain at large and investigators are continuing their operation to track them down and look for evidence that would directly link the family to Delgado’s death.
