This Black Friday deal increased my love for loud live music – CNET

Now that it’s safer, I’m going back and seeing more music and live performances. But as much as I loved listening to my favorite bands live, I didn’t like the ringing in my ears the next morning and the feeling that I was potentially damaging my hearing. So, in preparation for a show earlier this year, I bought two pairs of Loop Experience earplugs for myself and my wife.

Are early Black Friday sales a good time to shop?

Many retailers begin their Black Friday sales on Halloween or even earlier. The quality of the deals may vary at first, but as November progresses, many of them are as good as the deep discounts you’ll see over Thanksgiving weekend. I chose Loop Experiences because I liked the washable and reusable design and was tempted by the promise of noise reduction without blocking incoming sound. I paid full price at the time and they were worth every penny, but they are an even better pre-Black Friday deal with 20% off.

I wore my nooses to see 11-piece techno marching band and Run The Jewels, my current favorite hip-hop duo. I took them to lively nightclubs in Las Vegas and small jazz clubs in New Orleans. And in each case they served me well. I heard the music clearly, almost as if I wasn’t wearing earplugs at all, but without the annoying post-show ringing, even when I was standing quite close to the speaker (or trombone). What’s more impressive is that I can hear and talk to people around me without removing the loop.

The Loop Experience earplugs come with four sizes of silicone tips for a comfortable fit and can be stored in a compact case that slips easily into the coin pocket of my jeans and is much easier to clean than foam earplugs. They are small enough that most people don’t even notice I’m wearing them, yet they can be easily removed once the show is over. Loop also offers Quiet and Engage plug-ins, which provide more or less noise reduction respectively, but for my needs as a music lover who wants to continue to enjoy live performances for many years to come, Loop Engage hits the spot.
