“Young Sheldon” will stream on Netflix US as WBD continues to license previously exclusive content

Netflix has started showing promotions on the platform in the US Young Sheldon will be “soon”.

The first five seasons of the popular Warner Bros. comedy series, which will end its run on CBS with its upcoming seventh season, will be available to stream on Netflix in the US from November 24.

In the USA, the so-called The Big Bang Theory the spinoff was broadcast live on sibling Warner Bros. TV, Maxie, which acquired exclusive broadcast rights in 2020, also exclusively securing the mothership series. Max was advertised as an American streaming hub The Big Bang Theory a franchise that also includes a new spinoff in development as the Max original.

This is now changing with Young Sheldon US streaming rights shared by Netflix and Max which will continue to carry The Big Bang Theory prequel. The move is part of a shift from exclusivity to content licensing that Max and Warner Bros. TV, parent company of Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as other media companies, have made over the past year. It featured many HBO titles including Uncertain AND Band of brothersalso obtaining a non-exclusive license to Netflix.

Young Sheldon is now available on Netflix in many international territories.

Creators, executive producers and screenwriters Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro focus on Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage), a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced math and science, which isn’t always helpful in a country where the Church and football they are kings. And while the vulnerable, talented and slightly naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him.
